Future simple tense
The simple future tense is used to describe an action that will take place in future.
Look at the following examples:
- He will play cricket.
- We shall come tomorrow.
- I shall be writing a letter.
The simple future tense is one of four future tenses.
They are future simple tense,
future continuous tense,
future perfect tense and
future Perfect continuous tense.
How to make the future simple
Positive (Future Simple)
Future simple sentences, have the following structure:
- Subject + auxiliary verb + main verb + Object.
- Subject + will/shall + Ist form of verb (s or es ) + Object.
For examples:

Ist form of verb (s or es )
eat
play
play
Object
an apple.
cricket.

Rules: For future simple sentences :
- Auxiliary verb "shall" or "will" is used after the subject.
- 'Shall' is used with 1st person.
- 'Will' is used with 2nd and 3rd person.
Negative (Future Simple)
Future simple negative sentences, have the following structure:
- Subject + auxiliary verb+ not + main verb + Object.
- Subject + will/shall + not + Ist form of verb + Object.
For examples:
- You will not go to school.
- He will not play cricket.
- I shall not eat an apple.
Interrogative (Future Simple)
Future simple interrogative sentences, have the following structure:
- Auxiliary verb + Subject + main verb + Object?
- Will/Shall + Subject + Ist form of verb + Object?
For examples:
- Will you go to school?
- Will he play cricket?
- Shall I eat an apple?
Interrogative negative (Future simple)
Future simple interrogative negative sentences, have the following structure:
- auxiliary verb + Subject + not + main verb + Object?
- Will/Shall + Subject + not + Ist form of verb + Object?
For examples:
- Will you not go to school?
- Will he not play cricket?
- Shall I not eat an apple?
