NOUN AND ITS KINDS
Noun
A noun is a word used as name of a person, place or thing. Here are some examples:
- Person:Man, Woman, Teacher, Aaliyah, etc.
- Place:Home, Office, City, China, etc.
- Thing:Chair, Ball, Apple, Money, Cat, etc.
Kinds of Noun
There are five kinds of noun in English :

Proper Noun.

Common Noun.

Collective Noun.

Material Noun.

Abstract Noun.
Proper Noun
Proper noun is the name of a particular person or place. Proper nouns always begin with a capital letter.
Examples: Jack, London, Tom, etc.
Common Noun
Common noun is a name given in common to every person or thing of the group. Common nouns begin with a capital letter only
if it is the first word of the sentence.
Examples: Boy, King, Country, etc.
Collective Noun
Collective noun is the name of a group of persons or things taken together and spoken of as a whole,
as unit.
Examples: Team, Committee, Army, etc.
Material Noun
Material noun is the name of a material or a substance or an ingredient of an alloy.
Examples:
Gold, Salt, Iron, Diamond, Rubber, Chemical, etc.
Abstract Noun
Abstract noun are words for things that can't be experienced by any of the five senses;
they can't be seen, heard, smelled, tasted or touched.
OR
An abstract
noun is the name of a quality, state, or action.
Examples: Love, Joy, Honesty, Falsehood, Death, etc.
